This mad Hatter lacks character
TORONTO -- Vahan Poladian had good reason to despise the 20th century.

Born into it in 1902, the young Armenian first survived the Turkish extermination of his people in 1915 by fleeing his homeland with the rest of his family. Attempted immigration to the United States failed, but Poladian and his family built a new life in France instead, after a brief stop in Cuba.
