EDMONTON -- That master of dark-hued nostalgia, Ray Bradbury, once wrote a short story called The Playground in which an older man was suddenly returned to his childhood and the playground where he grew up. The warm memories of later years disappeared as the grim truth came quickly back - the playground was a terrible place where older children preyed upon younger ones, and where teasing and bullying brought terror to every moment.
Bullying has become one of the hot-button issues of the day. And, in a metaphorical but clearly apparent way, it is the subject of Chris Craddock and Wes Borg's new play for children, The Monster Club.
