What follows is a rather unremitting two hours that traces the descent and resurrection of one Bettie Moon (Jan Streader) through the mental institutional system of the '50s. She voluntarily commits herself because "something's wrong inside me,'' but this medieval establishment is no place for anyone hoping to be cured of a little melancholia.
