Play Review: Turn Of The Screw
Screw takes a few wrong turns
CALGARY -- In the latest stage version of Turn of the Screw, American playwright Jeffrey Hatcher has streamlined Henry James' century-old ghost story into a moody, psychologically unnerving 90-minute thriller. Pleiades Theatre's production of Hatcher's adaptation is verbally dynamic, generally well-acted, yet not particularly gripping.
Director John Paul Fischbach had his work cut out for him to make the show visually appealing and briskly paced with only two cast members.
