Play Review: Under Milkwood
Universal appeal in Milkwood
EDMONTON -- For years, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas would scribble, on little pieces of paper, observations he made in the pubs of Laugharne, the small seaport where he lived.
Besides being something of a drunk, Thomas was eccentric, so the locals thought little of it. What he was doing was capturing their stories and characters - the way they talked, their intonations and rhythms.
